Jam Strips '05

21 Jul 2005

I've just returned from Sandy Eggo, and boy oh boy do I have some stories to tell! Unfortunately, I've decided to tell them in comic form, so they ain't ready. I will say this:

Eric informed me that Arrowhead brand bottled water is "disgusting," and that Ice Mountain is much better. I didn't know there was a difference.

I finally met Ryan, who told me all about The Gods Must Be Crazy III: Vampires Must Be Crazy, an authorized Korean-made sequel in which "Cola Bushman" apparently takes on vampires.

I joined a large party of artists at a seafood restaurant, and I was sitting at the table for a good 45 minutes before I realized that the guy sitting next to me was Joe, with whom I did caricatures at Six Flags New Jersey five years ago.

The upshot of all this was that we did some jam strips. You know, draw one panel and then hand it off to the next guy. Enjoy!

And "My Trip to Nerdfest" comic is coming some other time. Jinkies!

you know what i love about bushmen? first that we still feel okay using the term "bushmen". it is much easier than "hunter-gatherer" which has far too many syllables for a descriptive nomenclature. secondly, i love that the in these primitive, barbaric bushman languages, clicks are denoted with exclamation marks! as if you're really excited to be clicking! (i played a fun game with hunter-gatherers once whereby they would make me say things in their language and then laugh their asses off at me when i got the clicks wrong. good times.)
